Vonnie Brenno Cameron was born in Japan, raised in Hawaii and has lived in New York, Dallas, Los Angeles and Galisteo. She is of Hawaiian, Chinese and Norwegian extraction. She attended University of Southern California and Art Center College of Design. She studied oil painting with California artist Glenn Vilppu and Norwegian artist Jan Saether. From l972-79 she worked as art director at Ogilvy & Mather in Los Angeles. In l979 she moved to New York to begin painting full-time, concentrating principally on her “public portraits.” These oil on canvas realist works portrayed people in contemporary settings, capturing moments in time. Her paintings were featured in one-woman shows at Ps Galleries in Ogunquit, Maine and Dallas, Texas; Hobe Sound Gallery, Hobe Sound, Florida; Capricorn Gallery, Bethesda Maryland, and Enthios Galleries; Santa Fe, New Mexico and Palm Springs, California. Her work has appeared in Texas Art Review and American Artists. After the birth of her children, Vonnie returned to commercial art directing and is currently working again at Ogilvy & Mather in Los Angeles as a Senior Partner, Creative Director. Vonnie, her husband Gene, and children Sierra and Shane, divide their time between Los Angeles and Galisteo.

Her paintings currently focus on landscapes of Galisteo. Although she still enjoys charcoals and portraiture.
